Scientists have, for the first time, conducted a precise estimation of the number of trees nationwide in China by integrating high-precision drones, LiDAR, and artificial intelligence technologies. As of 2020, the total number of trees across the country is approximately 142.6 billion, which is equivalent to an average of about 100 trees per person in China.
