Shanghai Culture Development Blue Book Guides Cultural Metropolis Vision; Experts Address Mini Series Industry Challenges

The 2025 Shanghai Culture Development Blue Book, a major research achievement of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, was recently released. During the exchange session at the launch event, mini series, a rapidly emerging cultural format, became a major topic of discussion. Yang Haiyan, researcher and Deputy Party Secretary of Shanghai Normal University, pointed out that although Shanghai entered the mini series industry relatively late, it should seize the opportunity by addressing key industry pain points and leveraging its unique strengths in technology and legal services. She proposed that Shanghai could build a leading ecosystem for content valuation and copyright trading in the mini series sector by utilizing its technology exchange platform and adopting advanced technologies such as blockchain and AI. This would help establish an efficient and reliable "rights protection highland" to support the global expansion of Chinese mini series. By providing professional cross-border rights protection services and setting up dedicated compensation funds, Shanghai could not only attract high-quality mini series resources domestically and globally, but also take the lead in shaping this emerging cultural sector, opening up a new development track for the city's cultural industry.
