Intangible Cultural Heritage Mini Series Jin Bo Qi Yuan (Legend of the Gold Foil) Surpasses 100 Million Views, Becoming a New Benchmark for the Global Outreach of Chinese Culture
The intangible cultural heritage-themed mini series Jin Bo Qi Yuan (Legend of the Gold Foil), launched during the Spring Festival this year, uses a stylized historical revenge story to bring the national-level intangible cultural heritage "Nanjing Gold Foil Forging Technique" to domestic and international audiences. Since its release, the series has not only sparked enthusiasm among viewers on China's platforms like Douyin and Hongguo, but has also been simultaneously distributed on international platforms including YouTube. To date, its cumulative views across all platforms have exceeded 100 million, making it a landmark case of China's cultural exports in 2025.
Set in the fictional late Qi period, Jin Bo Qi Yuan tells the legendary story of Ge Jinnv, the heir of a gold foil crafting family, who teams up with Qin Jianming, the young deputy leader of the Xueyi Gang, to uncover the truth behind her father's death. Their journey—from mutual suspicion to growing affection—culminates in a bold, meticulously planned act of revenge. In the series, gold foil forging is not presented as a distant "museum craft," but instead becomes a driving force of the plot, with intangible cultural heritage elements tightly interwoven with the storyline.
Wo Zai Ye Sheng Qiu Chang Dang Men Shen (I'm the Goalkeeper in the Wild Field) Starts Filming

The series stars former professional football player Ji Ran and Hunan TV host Liao Yuwei.
Set against the backdrop of the Yongzhou division of the Hunan Super League (Xiang Chao), the series tells the story of Lin Ling, a former national youth team football athlete who retires due to injury. Through his own efforts to overcome difficulties, he reinvents himself as a goalkeeper in the league, achieving a remarkable comeback. On the thrilling fields of the Hunan Super League, Lin Ling and his teammates grow together, achieve outstanding results, and showcase the fighting spirit of Yongzhou athletes. It is reported that the series will complete filming soon and is scheduled to be released in early December this year.
First Mini Series Focusing on Guangxi's Culinary Culture—Guang Xi De Wei Dao (The Taste of Guangxi) Begins Filming in Nanning
On November 20, the first mini series focusing on Guangxi's culinary culture, Guang Xi De Wei Dao (The Taste of Guangxi), began filming in Nanning, filling a gap in the representation of Guangxi's food culture within the mini series genre. The series consists of 25 episodes and revolves around a rivalry from a Guangxi cuisine competition ten years ago. The protagonist, Liang Zichuan, embarks on a journey to uncover the truth and resolve past misunderstandings, gradually embracing the spirit of "inclusiveness" and ultimately achieving personal growth and a deeper sense of cultural identity.
Drawing from Guangxi's unique culinary resources and diverse food culture, the series skillfully integrates representative regional dishes such as old friend rice noodles, five-color glutinous rice, and Hengzhou raw fish. It innovatively blends culinary elements with martial arts storytelling, creating a unique "culinary world" where the stove becomes the battlefield, the ladle the blade, and the wok the shield.
University and Enterprises in Zhenjiang Join Forces to Develop the Mini Series Industry, Building a Production–Education Integration Base to Cultivate Skilled Talent

The first phase of construction is set for completion in 2026, and will include the establishment of a mini series filming training center and a filming site themed around urban family life. In addition, the base will offer social training programs for college students in Zhenjiang University Town and residents in the surrounding communities, covering areas such as styling (costume and makeup) and post-production (editing and visual effects).
Qujiang Mini Series Industry Upgrades to Version 2.0 for Overseas Expansion
The overseas expansion of Qujiang mini series began with its exploration of a "finished product export" model. Since the beginning of this year, more than thirty mini series produced by Quzhou Meigao Culture Media Co., Ltd.—including Wo Zai Qujiang Dang Da Shen (I Become a Legend in Qujiang)—have entered the overseas markets through a one-time fixed-price copyright model. The highest overseas viewership of a single title has already surpassed 20 million. Qujiang District benefits from extensive filming locations and a fully developed production chain. Within the 66,000-square-meter Meigao Mini Series Super Factory, more than 200 high-standard modern sets—including villas, subways, airplane cabins, and hospitals—cover nearly 99% of the scenario needs for modern mini series production. The sets are interconnected, allowing crew members to switch locations within 5 minutes, and the facility can accommodate up to 30 crews shooting simultaneously. This highly efficient production environment aligns seamlessly with the fast-paced workflows of international teams.
