Mini Series Zhi Ai Zai Xiang Shan Starts Filming, Empowering the "Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Projects" with Culture
On December 12, the inaugural filming ceremony for the mini series Zhi Ai Xiang Shan (Love in Xiangshan) was held at the GOGOING Starship Camping Site in Chongkou Village, Nanlang Sub-District, Zhongshan City. Zhi Ai Xiang Shan revolves around the theme of young people returning to their hometowns to start businesses in the new era. It deeply integrates the local culture, tourism resources, and rural revitalization practices of Nanlang Sub-District. The story, set against the backdrop of Cantonese cuisine, tells the tale of a talented female chef and a Hong Kong-funded enterprise heir who, through a clash of ideas, join forces to create a comprehensive cultural tourism project that combines ecological agriculture, gourmet experiences, and cultural heritage. The filming location, GOGOING Starship Camping Site in Chongkou Village, is one of the key projects introduced for rural revitalization. The camping site utilizes the original terrain to create a starry sky-themed campsite, blending natural landscapes with modern facilities to offer accommodation and outdoor activities. Since its establishment three years ago, thanks to the village's cultural and tourism policy support and its excellent ecological location, the camp has attracted many visitors from Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macau.
The series is set in the real-life locations of Nanlang and incorporates natural scenery, folk culture, and local cuisine into the storyline, vividly presenting the creative transformation from "farm to table." The inspiration for the series comes from the One Village, One Book project in Nanlang Sub-District. During filming, the drama will focus on the modern interpretation of traditional cuisine and the innovative inheritance of local culture, responding to the market's demand for deep cultural tourism experiences. It aims to become a vivid window showcasing the cultural and tourism resources of Nanlang.
Sichuan-Style Mini Series Jia Li Jia Wai 2 (My Sweet Home 2) Charts a New Path Toward Industry Premiumization
The recently launched mini series Jia Li Jia Wai 2 (My Sweet Home 2) has quickly sparked a viewing craze on platforms such as Hongguo Short Drama and Douyin. As a phenomenal sequel that surpassed 10 billion views within just three days, the series is set against the backdrop of everyday life in the Sichuan–Chongqing region during the 1980s and 1990s. Focusing on the warmth of blended families, it aligns with the National Radio and Television Administration's guidance for the mini series sector to pursue "premium quality and positive values," offering a model for industry transformation.
Upholding the principle that "content is king," the production avoids contrived storylines. Through plain-spoken dialogue and grounded, everyday scenes, it conveys the theme of "home as a safe harbor," resonating across generations. The creative team recreates a sense of the era with nostalgic elements such as posters from the 1986 TV adaptation of Journey to the West, while Sichuan pickles and authentic local dialects highlight regional character. Singer Zhou Shen contributed a bespoke theme song, Time, using a "mini series + music" approach to elevate the work into a culturally and emotionally rich product.
The wide dissemination of high-quality content also depends on strong platform support. My Sweet Home 2 chose distribution through the Douyin Group's Mini Series Copyright Center, reflecting a precise match between content and platform capabilities and addressing a core issue facing the industry. The center's "one collaboration, multi-platform distribution" mechanism integrates channels such as Hongguo and Douyin, unifying content uploads, rights management, and settlement. This not only reduces costs for creators but also enables full-spectrum distribution by leveraging the strengths of multiple platforms. Meanwhile, the "lived-in" community ecosystem fostered by Hongguo Short Drama has upgraded dissemination from one-way delivery to two-way resonance.
