China Science and Technology Museum's First Mini Series Premieres January 9

From the Song Dynasty's astronomical organization to the modern science museum, and into a future cyber city, the China Science and Technology Museum's first mini series, Ping Xing Shi Kong Zhao Dao Ni Zhi Wo Ba Shi Ding Liu (Finding You in a Parallel Universe: My Dad Is Influential), premieres on January 9, taking audiences on a journey through time and space. "We hope to use the currently popular format of mini series to make hardcore scientific knowledge more approachable and vivid for audiences," said a relevant official. Adapted from an original story by the museum, the script follows 16-year-old Qin Tianming's cross-temporal quest to find his father. After his father mysteriously disappears, Qin Tianming, holding a "meteorite key," must complete seven journeys through time to rescue him. Traveling from Bianjing in the Northern Song Dynasty to a future metropolis, he follows his parents' footsteps in researching the Crab Nebula, solving puzzles and undergoing personal growth while traversing the past and present.

The story is inspired by the unique insights of ancient Chinese astronomers into the study of the Crab Nebula. The creative team revealed that since the Crab Nebula's discovery in the 18th century, scientists lacked data on its initial explosion. It was not until the early 20th century, when Hubble and others calculated backwards from the nebula's expansion rate and consulted ancient Chinese texts, that they were surprised to find that Chinese astronomers had observed this spectacular supernova explosion as early as 1054 AD. The Northern Song's Directorate of Astronomy named it "Tian Guan Guest Star" and recorded observations for two years. The discovery history of the "Tian Guan Guest Star–Crab Nebula" thus constitutes a romantic tale of humanity gazing at the same patch of stars across a millennium.

Datonghu District Media Center's Mini Series Xin Hai Da Tong Hu Showcases Industry Empowerment

How can mini series help a regional public brand expand its reach? The mini series Xin Hai Da Tong Hu, jointly launched by the Datonghu District Converged Media Center of Yiyang, Hunan Province, and the District Agriculture, Rural Affairs, and Water Conservancy Bureau, offers a compelling answer. Centered on "content innovation, technological empowerment, and industrial integration," the project deeply merges the strengths of converged media communication with the development needs of local characteristic industries, exploring a new pathway for county-level converged media to empower regional public brand building.

The series closely adheres to the creative philosophy of "ecology as the foundation, quality as the core, culture as the soul." Through five thematic chapters—Qian Shi Jin Shen, Zang Hai Ji, Xie Yan, Xie Hou Yan Huo, and Xie Ge De Huan Qiu Lv Xing. Together, they systematically constructs a full-industry-chain narrative spanning ecological aquaculture, food culture, and brand vision. The series vividly interprets Datonghu's practice of "using crab culture as a medium to invigorate industry and enrich local communities,"  forming a distinctive model for regional brand communication.

Leveraging the integrated production mechanism of "one-time content collection, multi-format creation, and omni-media distribution," the mini series has achieved wide dissemination across platforms, generating over 100,000 views both online and offline. In terms of production, the final chapter Xie Ge De Huan Qiu Lv Xing, innovatively uses "AI-generated content combined with AE special effects," presenting the brand's vision in a lively and international style to attract young audiences, while enhancing the series's visual appeal and emotional resonance.

Yancheng Public Security's First Mini Series Ni Xi Ba! Xin Jing (Transform, Junior Police Officer) Premieres On January 10

On January 10, Yancheng Municipal Public Security Bureau's first self-produced mini series, Ni Xi Ba! Xin Jing (Transform, Junior Police Officer), will make its grand debut! The story follows Xiao Shuai, a green but passionate rookie community police officer who repeatedly stumbles through the complexities of everyday neighborhood policing—flustered when mediating disputes, panicked during emergencies, and very much a "workplace newbie." By chance, he accidentally activates a hidden "Master Cop" mysterious system, instantly unlocking skills such as fraud identification, conflict mediation, and emergency rescue, rapidly boosting his abilities to the maximum.

From then on, Xiao Shuai embarks on a journey of growth and transformation. Guided by the system, he gradually masters core policing skills, shedding his initial naivety and panic through hands-on experiences such as resolving neighborhood conflicts, handling minor cases related to people's livelihoods, and safeguarding community peace, ultimately honing genuine competence in serving the public. He transforms from a flustered beginner into a reliable "guardian of safety" who responds to every call from the people. Blending inspirational growth, engaging legal education, and hard-hitting police work, the mini series will be broadcast simultaneously on multiple platforms, including the "Safe Yancheng" WeChat video channel, Douyin, and Kuaishou. Mini Series Zhu Lang 1980 Begins Filming

On January 6, the premium mini series Zhu Lang 1980, produced by Zhejiang Satellite TV (China Blue New Platform) and Hangzhou Xintao Film and Television Media Co., Ltd., and supported by the Song Zhiming West Lake Silk Umbrella Skills Master Studio, officially began filming in Hengdian. At the launch ceremony, the series' chief producer Zhao Xin, Xintao Film and Television's CEO Liu Yangkun, and director An Dong delivered speeches. The mini series Zhu Lang 1980 actively responds to the National Radio and Television Administration's "Discover Intangible Cultural Heritage in Mini Series" creation plan, highlighting the spirit of Zhejiang entrepreneurs known as the "Four-Thousand Spirit."

The series tells an inspiring story of Chen Qiaoyu, a young woman living in the 1980s who accidentally time-travels to 2026 through an old house and teams up with Zhang Shuhao, a groom who fled his wedding, and the two become entrepreneurial partners. Through wisdom and hard work, they revive and pass on the intangible cultural heritage craft of the "West Lake Silk Umbrella" while also finding love along the way. Using "a cross-temporal encounter" as its narrative framework, the series combines the striving spirit of the early reform and opening-up era, national-level intangible cultural heritage, and the Zhejiang merchant ethos, forging a new path for the cultural expression and industrial integration of mini series. Through the protagonists' dedication to "traveling far for materials, exhausting every possible means to pass on craftsmanship," the series vividly portrays the responsibility carried by Zhejiang entrepreneurs—from making a living, to building enterprises, and ultimately to preserving cultural legacy. In doing so, it brings the enduring vitality of the "Four-Thousand Spirit" into a contemporary context.

Nanjing's Qixia District Issues Call for Mini Series Project Proposals, Offering Subsidies of Up to 300,000 Yuan

The Publicity Department of the CPC Qixia District Committee in Nanjing, in collaboration with the Department of Film and Television at Shanghai Jiao Tong University's School of Media and Communication, has officially launched the first initiative under the Qixia Mini Series Creation and Investment Base: the "48-Hour AIGC Extreme Creation Workshop." This initiative is calling for project proposals under the theme "Nanjing Qixia Stories" from creative teams nationwide, including university groups, young creators, and related enterprises and institutions; outstanding teams will have the opportunity to be stationed at the creation and investment base and enjoy benefits such as rent-free office space and access to district-level special cultural industry funds ranging from 20,000 to 300,000 yuan.

Centered on the overarching theme "River Maple Smart City, New Charm of Qixia," the initiative encourages creators to explore the integration of technology, storytelling, and local culture within a real urban context, and requires submissions to be original story proposals that can be developed into mini series based on the local resources of Qixia District.
